The Purpose of This Site

My name is Suzette, and welcome to a Spring of Joy!  Allow me to tell you a little bit about myself and why I started this website.  I grew up in a Christian home and got saved at age twelve.  My family are faithful members at Gill Grove Baptist Church.  Ever since before I was a teenager, I felt a special burden for teen girls.  As I graduated from high school and began college, my love for young girls broadened into a love for young ladies.  Through the years the Lord has taught me many valuable lessons about friends, circumstances, and His Word.  I have been so blessed by these teachings that my desire is to share them with as many teen girls and young ladies as I can.

I am a student at Heartland Baptist Bible College in Oklahoma City and to say the least, it's been an adventure! My fiance, Tim, and I feel that the Lord's will is for us to wait to get married until we graduate. We started dating in 2007 and we got engaged in May of 2011, so when we get married we will have been dating for five years. As you already know, waiting for anything takes great patience and allows for many trials. My desire is to communicate the lessons about waiting on the Lord that I've already learned in the amount of time we've been together.

During our freshman year, the Lord allowed Tim to join GloryBound, the men's traveling quartet at Heartland. I could write a 900-page book on everything I have learned through this exciting but challenging chapter in my life.  If you have ever struggled to find joy and contentment in a less-than-perfect circumstance, or if life just isn't going the way you planned, I have been there.  I hope I can be an encouragement to you by sharing my personal experiences, mistakes, and discoveries in God's Word that have helped me find joy in the journey.

For the past three years, I have worked at Chick-Fil-A. I have met people from every walk of life, and every one of them have taught me a valuable lesson. I would like to share some of these stories with you in order to illustrate timeless lessons that have made my employment there beneficial and even enjoyable!

I understand that not everyone who visits this site works at Chick-Fil-A or has a significant other who is on a traveling singing group.  However, you and I alike have dealt with emotions like fear, jealousy, impatience, sadness, and discouragement.  As I continue to post stories, Psalms, illustrations, and songs, I pray that you will be encouraged through whatever journey to which the Lord has called you.
